Julien launched KultureFlash in 2002. It was London’s first online, free, comprehensive cultural weekly newsletter with a focus on contemporary art, architecture, film, music, design, dance and theatre. Julien edited KultureFlash's content and managed a team of 30+ writers. The publication presented an extremely curated group of reviews and previews along with an Artworker of the Week column which comprised of over 70 in-depth interviews with leading cultural figures such as Arthur DantoElmgreen & DragsetJenny HolzerAnthony McCallPipilotti Rist and Hiroshi Sugimoto. The newsletter reached over 35,000 subscribers weekly worldwide. KultureFlash was supported by advertising from the likes of Diesel, Sony Ericsson, Absolut Vodka, Paul Smith and cultural institutions such as Tate, Southbank Centre and the Barbican.
